Courses & Study
The School of Psychology and Social Science is the largest provider of psychology and community work education in Western Australia. The School has quickly acquired a reputation for the quality of its graduates, both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and this has resulted in the School developing an excellent record of employment for its graduates.
Psychology
The School offers courses that prepare graduates for all levels of the Psychology profession. At the undergraduate level there are also many opportunities to study another discipline which enhances the employment prospects of graduates. Undergraduate courses are available in on-campus and off-campus modes. At the postgraduate level, students can specialise in the professions of Clinical, Community or Forensic Psychology, as well as research in a range of Psychology domains. The School's modern clinic in the Joondalup CBD is used to prepare graduates for all aspects of the Psychology profession. The School's courses are all accredited with the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC).

Social Science
The Social Science courses offer training in community work for those graduates who wish to develop a career involving service to the community. Students may choose from a range of majors including Applied Counselling Skills, Child and Family Studies, Community Studies, Counselling, Disability, Women's Studies and Youth Work. Students may elect to complete a second major in Welfare and Community Work which enables them to be registered nationally as welfare and community workers. Professional practice is an integral part of the specialist majors in Children and Family Studies, Disability, Women's Studies and Youth Work. This ensure that students are able to link the theory they learn with the relevant skills in preparation for employment in the area of community work of their choice. In addition to the undergraduate program, high achieving graduates may progress to Honours, Masters and PhD level in the area of social sciences.
